A new single for a happy holiday. Just a whim.

In 2009, dj newtown released the track 2005, built from chopped and flipped samples of Momoe Shimano’s Late Show, with auto-tuned vocals and UK garage beats. In 2021, the sample was officially cleared, and Tofubeats reissued the song via his label HIHATT with seven remixes. One of them, 2.O.O.S., was originally created by Hercelot for dj newtown’s 2011 tribute album.

CHUNITHM is SEGA’s rhythm game series that has been running since 2015. The latest title, CHUNITHM NEW, launched on November 4, and includes a new song by Hercelot titled Pre Paid Pog Punk Panic. It’s available to play in arcades across Japan.

Shiseido, a major Japanese brand known for skincare, makeup, and suncare, produces a monthly web radio program called Hanatsubaki Hour, hosted by Tofubeats. This month’s theme is Music of Beyond, and Hercelot’s track Same Talk is featured. It’s available for streaming through April.

A new EP featuring six short collage tracks has been released. Each track is around one minute long and was created entirely on December 11. The sound materials were selected and edited without previewing or playback—only searching files and viewing waveforms guided the creative process, bringing a sense of automatism to the work.
